When we find ourselves on the hunt for a lifelong partner, deciding what is important is something that everyone does at one time or another. Do you share a love and hope for having multiple children? Or perhaps your requirement is someone who is willing to travel the world so that you can wake up each day to a new background for life. These are things that we put a lot of emphasis on because what we want defines us, and being with someone who disagrees can really get in the way of us accomplishing our dreams, but does the same hold true when it comes to a love of cannabis?

Can it be hard to date someone who doesn’t like cannabis?

No matter what your expectations may be, chances are pretty good that even the most compatible pair will have some differences between them. After all, they are two completely different people. It could be an opposite opinion in regard to politics, parenting, finances, other household responsibilities, and when we find someone that we truly connect with, we make these minor differences work.

In some cases, it might mean avoiding the subject to keep the peace, and in most, it will require a steady amount of compromise from both parties to find a comfortable zone to operate within that suits both people involved, but it can work, no matter what the discrepancy might be. So as long as a person isn’t dead set against the idea of cannabis, there is no reason to assume that it would be any more challenging to date someone who dislikes it than it would be to be with a person who disagrees with something else in life.

In the end, it’s all a matter of how it’s dealt with that makes the biggest difference, because if both parties are willing to negotiate and make exceptions out of love, then anything is possible. So, if the person you’re into doesn’t smoke, and you do, that fact alone should not discourage you from learning more about who could be the love of your life.

The upside to being the only stoner in the relationship

Aside from the fact that couples can have differing opinions about things, there are also the benefits that can come with being the only person who enjoys the benefits of cannabis in a couple. That means you won’t be coming home to an empty jar, and the habit will be overall cheaper. Two things that are hardly ever possible in the households of cannabis couples.

Benefits of cannabis for couples

You might not want to walk away from a potential mate based on the fact that they don’t enjoy cannabis in the same way that you do, but it is impossible to deny that there are many benefits to becoming one of those cannabis couples that get high together. It can help to improve your sex life, reduce stress, and it just gives you something to bond over anywhere that you may be, which is something special and rare that any cannabis enthusiasts would love to be a part of for life.

The truth

There are benefits of cannabis for couples, but the truth is that if you’re a toker that has yet to find the love of your life, the one you’re searching for might not enjoy it and that’s ok. As long as they are accepting, supportive, and understanding of the lifestyle choice, anything is possible. So, put away any prior expectations that you may have had because you never know what you could miss out on if you ignore so many potential suitors based on their substance preference.
