The makers of Oreo's may soon be adding CBD oil to make us even more happy with the already delicious product. Can you imagine saying an Oreo a day keeps the doctor away? Oh my, that does sound like heaven! The company is working on releasing cannabis-infused cookies and other snacks in the near future.

Mondelez International owns Oreo, Nutter Butter, and Chips Ahoy. They plan to add CBD to these yummy snacks, and many more exciting new products.

Benefits of CBD

CBD is a component found in the hemp plant. Unlike THC, CBD will not get you high and there are many other benefits come from CBD. Cannabidiol (CBD) has been used in a therapeutic way to treat ailments such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Seizures
  • Sleep disorders
  • Inflammation

Trump signed a farm bill legalizing almost everything that contains CBD in an edible form. Although the Food and Drug Administration still isn’t saying whether or not CBD should be added to food or beverages. It is yet a grey area for the FDA, but with any luck, they will soon become more transparent and allow CBD in food and beverage products. This shift is expected to take place at some point over the next several months.

Companies are also a little concerned as many are considered to be family brands so adding CBD may have a small effect on the view from some parents. The fact is that Ores are not all going to be infused. There is sure to be a choice, and the fact that CBD helps with seizures sounds like a great way to medicate without feeling like you are taking a medicine.

The snacks should be on shelves very soon, but as far as the CBD Oreos are concerned, it will still be a bit of a wait. The maker of Oreo is just trying to be sure they are functioning within their legal limits. That way, there will not be any interruption once the first yummy Oreo is released.
