  • 1 stick of cannabutter
  • 10 grams of cannabis

  • Weed grinder
  • Cheesecloth
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Small cooking pot
  • Spoon
  • Heat resistant container
  • Medium saucepan

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.

  2. While you wait, grind the cannabis using weed grinder, then prepare the baking sheet with a layer of parchment paper.

  3. Spread the cannabis grind across the baking sheet and bake it in the oven for 45 minutes.

  • While the grind is baking, it is a good idea to flip it and move it around every 15 minutes to avoid scalding

  • Add water to a saucepan and place it onto a burner.

  • Set the smaller pot inside and fill it with the herb grind and butter.

  • Set the temperature to a medium heat and wait for the butter to melt.

  • Once the mixture reaches a simmer, let it remain for 3 to 5 hours, as any hotter can burn the butter. This is going to require close monitoring and adding more water to the saucepan as needed.

  • Once it has finished cooking, remove the pot from the heat, then strain the butter by placing a few sheets of cheesecloth over the opening of the storage container then pour the butter through to remove the excess plant materials.

  • Allow the cannabutter to cool to room temperature. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to one month.
