How to make cannabutter candy

Marijuana edibles can seem like a daunting challenge at first, but once you get the hang of base ingredients to use for infusion, there will be nothing that remains out of reach. Cannabutter is one of the easiest and most popular cannabis recipes out there. It’s easy to make large amounts, control dosing, and turn it into a variety of pot-infused goodies. The only trouble is that is doesn’t last long enough in storage, so whether you are looking for a way to use up a bunch, or you just want to try some sweet cannabutter candy for yourself, then you’ve come to just the right place. Here you will find three cannabutter candy cannabis recipes that are delicious, potent, and so much more unique than your average weed brownies.

1. Cannabis infused butter mints

Buttermints offer that hard, crunchy outer crust, but inside, they are filled with gooey goodness that will melt in your mouth.

Makes: 60 THC butter mints
Takes: 1 hour

  • 8 ounces of cannabutter
  • 8 cups of icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of cannamilk

  • ½ teaspoon of mint extract (or peppermint)
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • food coloring

  • 1 stand mixer (or electric hand mixer)
  • 1 large bowl
  • 1 baking pan
  • parchment paper

  1. Add the cannabutter to the bowl, and beat it at medium speed until it is smooth and free of lumps.
  2. Now pour in the 8 cups of powdered sugar, cannamilk, vanilla, mint, and salt into the bowl, and combine the ingredients on low until the sugar is well incorporated.
  3. Use 2 tablespoons of icing sugar to dust a work surface.
  4. If you would like to make multiple colors, now is the perfect time to divide the mixture
  5. Add a few drops at a time of food coloring, and gently press it into the dough.
  6. Cover a baking pan with a layer of parchment paper.
  7. Roll the soft cannabutter candy mixture into long log shapes using your hands, and once finished, dust it with an even coating of icing sugar.
  8. Place each one onto the parchment paper, and continue repeating the process until you are finished.
  9. Cut the candy logs into pieces that are less than one inch long, and leave them out overnight to harden.
  10. The next morning, place all of the cannabutter candy pieces into an airtight container for storage. In the fridge, these marijuana edibles can last up to one full month.

2. Cannabis infused butterscotch

These hard candies are a good old fashioned favorite, and the sweetness makes medicating a much more enjoyable experience.

Makes: 40 THC butterscotch candies
Takes: 40 minutes

  • 1 cup of cannabutter
  • 1 teaspoon of cannabutter
  • 2 ½ cups of white granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup of cold water
  • ½ cup of corn syrup
  • ¼ cup of real honey
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of rum extract

  • 1 small bowl
  • 1 large saucepan and lid
  • 1 15x10x1-inch baking pan
  • 1 candy thermometer
  • 1 whisk

  1. Use 1 teaspoon of cannabutter to grease the inside of the baking pan.
  2. Slice 1 cup of cannabutter into cubes inside of a small bowl.
  3. Add the corn syrup, water, and white sugar to the saucepan.
  4. Cover the pan with a lid, and set the burner to medium heat.
  5. Do not stir the mixture. Instead, you will need to use a thermometer to monitor the temperature of the liquids until they reach 270 degrees Farenheight.
  6. Once the batter hits 270 degrees, you can add in the cubed cannabutter, salt, and honey, and whisk the ingredients together until they reach 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
  7. Once they do, remove the saucepan from the burner, and add in the rum extract.
  8. Whisk in the extract until well combined, and then pour the cannabutter candy liquid into the greased baking pan. Do not spread it, as this will roughen the surface results.
  9. Wait 1-2 minutes and then score the partially hardened candy into cubes.
  10. Let the candy sheet finish setting for another 5 minutes, and then break the cubes apart.
  11. Store the cannabutter candy in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one month.
