We have been reading and listening to all kinds of raving about CBD oil, and all of it’s healing properties, but we rarely hear about the potential adverse effects. So we thought we would do a little research to see if there is any, and to give you a list of any possible side effects along with the benefits of taking CBD oil. That way you can decide if CBD oil is right for you. CBD has been studied since way back in the 1970’s right along with THC and right now, millions of people are taking CBD for many different ailments.

World Health Organization (WHO)

Recently the WHO has reported that CBD oil is a beneficial thing for treating many different ailments. It is very well tolerated and doesn’t seem to have a risk of abuse and other issues that arise from some other drugs used. CBD has an excellent safety profile. It is not so easy trying to find any adverse effects of CBD oil. Here are a few reasons that you might want to do a little more research and or talk to your health care professional.

For instance, if you are currently taking any medications that warn not to take with grapefruit such as Anti-epileptics, Warafin, Chemotherapy and more, then please seek out information from your wellness team to provide the proper advice about incorporating CBD in your health routine, because they will be able to inform you on how to proceed.

If you have liver complications

Those of you that may have liver issues should be mindful about your CBD intake as there have been studies done that say CBD can elevate liver enzymes. This study was conducted on children taking the Epidiolex, but at the same time, the children were also taking pharmaceuticals that may damage the liver. Still, if you have any liver conditions, it’s best to be safe and have your liver monitored while starting a trial of CBD oil.

If you have low blood pressure

CBD is well known for lowering blood pressure. So if you already have low blood pressure, please talk to a physician to help you decide if CBD is right for you. They may want to monitor your blood pressure if you are increasing your CBD dose or if you start using any other CBD products like CBD wax or a CBD vape pen. It’s important to always pay attention to how your body feels after adding any medication to your routine.

Compromised immune system

CBD is known to calm a hyperactive immune system, but on the other hand, some do have a concern that this may lower immunity in certain situations, like if you have HIV. This effect has mostly been disproven through research that showed how cannabis is very beneficial for an array of symptoms like pain caused from HIV. Marijuana is often recommended for other symptoms such as liver fibrosis because there is no evidence that cannabis will make the problem any worse.

Are you pregnant or breastfeeding?

If you are with a child or breastfeeding, you may want to consider speaking with a physician, as we know that everything that the mother eats, drinks, or smokes eventually makes it to the baby. Any active molecules that pass through the mother's bloodstream are, in fact, shared with your baby. As with all medications, always discuss CBD with a physician before starting to use it if you are pregnant or nursing.

Are you looking to replace other medications with CBD?

Some people want to switch over to all-natural CBD. Do not do this on your own as the medications you might be taking can have side-effects if stopped suddenly. It's also important to know if CBD is the right way to treat your symptoms. So please always talk to a medical professional before you make a change. CBD has helped many people with their symptoms with the right wellness team to monitor and provide proper feedback.

With every drug available on the market, there are always going to be pros and cons. We recommend that everyone to take good care by talking to a healthcare professional as we want to see you happy and healthy! Depending on your situation, CBD may or may not be right for you as everyone reacts differently to medications.

Some prefer to smoke marijuana, others prefer to eat cannabutter, and some prefer to have a few drops of CBD under the tongue. There is a whole list of CBD products available on the market that will not get you high. Some feel that getting high from THC is a negative effect of marijuana, while others think the high is the best part. Its really up to you as we cannot judge what works for each individual.

CBD has helped many people live a more relaxed life, but like all things, we need to look deeper to be sure it’s the right choice for individual situations. Keeping a sense of well being is of the most important when you are trying to heal your body, so please take care and maintain your health as a top priority.
