Seed to Plate - Interview - Alex Snyder

On this episode, our host ‘The Stoner Chef’, Danny Raposo is joined by friend and chef, Alex Snyder.

Alex Snyder graduated from Niagara College Class 2018 Culinary Innovation and Food Technology Program. That year when he graduated was the first, and at the time, the only government-approved and accredited Cannabis Program. This certificate program was offered at The Academy of Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS) and was called Cannabis - Management, Quality and Laboratory Certificate Program.

Alex Snyder has been working for a well-respected Chef by the name of Ted Reader for the past 2 years. Ted Reader was one of his professors at Niagara College. Alex explained, "with him, I've had the opportunity to work events large and small and also help with product development and product presentations."Since graduating Alex also had the opportunity to work at restaurants in wineries and large scale food manufacturing facilities.

He started making edibles in high school, far before his culinary experience started. "A friend tried and failed miserably, so I tried my hand at making butter and my first edible was the classic fudge brownies and I also made chocolate chip cookies too. Since then I've been playing, experimenting and creating infusions and edibles."
