If you know anything about weed, then you have probably heard about some pretty cool tools that can help to simplify the cannabis extraction process, and one of the most famous is the magical butter machine. Whether you just aren’t quite sure why, or you have your hands on one and don’t know how to use it, we’re here to help with a simple explanation, and easy to follow steps for success.

What is a magical butter machine?

These tools are perfect for processing cannabis, and they were initially designed to make DIY edibles easier than ever before, but they can make a whole lot more than your average cannabutter. They can infuse almost any fat-based liquid you can think of with a potent dose of cannabinoids with little to no effort at all, and some consumers even have luck with low-fat alternatives like water, alcohol, or vinegar.

What can you make with a magical butter machine?

The options that become available with one of these cannabis extraction tools are practically endless, but these are some of the easiest treats you can whip up in no time with the help of a magical butter machine:

  • Tinctures
  • Oils
  • Cannabutter
  • Liquors
  • Vinegar

Where to buy a magical butter machine

If you want to make some magical butter of your own, then you can start with little more than a couple of pots or saucepans, however, having the magic butter machine makes the whole process easier, but to buy one, you need to know where to look. Luckily, there are a few different options to choose from depending on your budget, including:

  • Third-party vendors (dispensaries, headshops, smoke shops, Amazon, etc.)
  • The makers at www.magicalbutter.com
  • Second hand (yard sales, online exchange websites like Kijiji or Craigslist, through word of mouth)

Just remember that if you do choose to go with a second-hand model, ensure that it is tested and thoroughly sanitized before you pay for it. You’ll never know what someone else has done with the hardware, and it’s essential that you have a clean and good working device if you want to see the best results possible. It is also important to note that there are a couple of different models out there, so make sure you aren’t overpaying for the one that you find available.

How to use a magical butter machine

As you go through the process, it is important to remember that the magical butter extractor is intended to hold a maximum of 2 cups of liquid, so don’t exceed that or the overflow will shut it down partway without completing the job leaving you to a mess to contend with. It can also house up to 2.5 ounces of dry cannabis product.

You will need:

  • Fatty liquid (butter, milk, oil, etc.)
  • Cured cannabis buds
  • Magical butter extractor
  • Measuring cup

Instructions

  1. Start by grinding up some cannabis buds, or if you prefer, toss them in the machine whole, but the instruction manual clearly states that in full pieces, the extraction process may not be so effective, leaving powerful cannabinoids behind in the waste.

  2. Now fill the bag screen with the weed and set it aside for the moment.

WW
  • Pour your liquid of choice into the magical butter extractor, and then set the bag gently on top. It should click into place when it’s ready.

  • You now want to make sure it’s all plugged in, and then choose the setting that is ideal for what you want to make.

  • 1hr- Cooking oils or coconut oil

    2hr- Cannabutter

    4hr- Alcohol tinctures

8hr- Standalone (works with anything, but it slowly steeps the cannabis in a process that is longer but also most effective)

    1. Once the timer is up, you can lift the lid to let the steam escape, get out your love glove.

    2. Pull the straining bag from the magical butter maker, and gently squeeze the plant materials until all the liquid is in the base of the extractor.

    3. Rinse out the straining bag, and once it’s clean, rest it on a measuring cup or jug.

    4. Slowly pour the hot liquid through the straining screen to ensure that all of the plant materials are gone.

    5. Store your freshly made cannabis liquid in a cool dark place until ready to use, and make sure to take the time to run through the self-cleaning function on the machine so that it’s ready the next time you need it.
