Five must see 420-friendly events in April of 2019
With the first five months of marijuana legalization out of the way, many Canadians are more than ready to partake in some of the upcoming festivals, expos, and other cannabis-related events to celebrate the traditional stoner holiday which is April 20th, aka 420. Here you will find a list of five of the biggest, best, and most important marijuana focused events that will take place throughout the month of April, including an unofficial list of some of the entertainments and activities that will be available for your enjoyment if you decide to plan a trip out.
1. O’Cannabiz Expo
The O’Cannabiz Expo includes a business conference, awards gala, and industry expo. The conference will include a host of guest speakers including the famous Montel Williams, Ricki Lake, and Vice media’s Krishna Andavolu to name just a select few. The awards gala contains just over 30 different titles including everything from the most innovative company to the most technologically advanced licensed cannabis producer. These 420 friendly events will not serve and does not allow the use of weed on the premise which is definitely something to keep in mind before heading out. Despite that, the three-day show is expected to draw in crowds in the thousands who are interested in learning about some of the newest and most innovative marijuana technology.

2. Toronto 420 Comedy Festival
This intricate cannabis centered event is the third biggest this year and takes place across several accessible venues to provide a safe place for all 420 celebrators to ring in the celebrations. The list of comedians to take center stage with acts that focus on cannabis is as follows: Lit Wit, Puff Mama, Nitish Sakhuja, Bobby Knauff, Patrick Hakeem, Marito Antonio, Sandra Battaglini, Keith Pedro, Phil Luzi, Jay Freeborn, Jen Sakato, Patrick Fishman, Keith Andrews, Drew Grav, Lucky and Gill Gervais, Alex Best, Emily Richardson, Antony Hall, Ryan Sheedy, Paul Bates, Nelu Handa, Vance Bazo, Tricia Black, and many more that have yet to be announced.
When: Friday, April 19-21 from 7:30 pm to 11 pm
Where: This event will take place at a few different locations including:
- The Underground Cafe which is located at 670 Queen Street East
- Bad Dog Comedy Theater located at 875 Bloor Street west on the second floor
- The Rivoli located at 334 Queen Street West
- Comedy Bar- located at 945 Bloor Street West

3. Niagara Falls 420 Expo
This event will offer over 20000 square feet of weed-related experiences including seminars, demonstrations, vendors, manufacturers, speakers, exhibits and more. It’s one of the most affordable that made the list and is the perfect place to be for anyone looking for something exciting to do while celebrating this years 420 holiday.
When: Saturday, April 20 from 10am-6pm
Where: Scotiabank Convention Center located at 6815 Stanley Avenue
Cost to attend: $15 per ticket
4. C-45 Quality Summit
The purpose of the Quality Summit is to bring together cannabis industry leaders from all over the world to network and help to evolve the marijuana market and the products within it. This three-day event includes hundreds of speakers, a full buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner every single day, and many intriguing discussions including CEO’s, licensed cannabis producers, and consumers. The best part about this one is that it’s a bring nothing event, meaning that everything you will require during your stay aside from a place to sleep will be covered with your ticket price.
When: Thursday, April 23-25 from 12am-12pm
Where: RBC Convention Center in Winnipeg which is located at 375 York Avenue

5. 420 Festival Vancouver
One of the largest 420 festivals in the world in Vancouver's 420 marijuana festival which has gotten so massive over the years that a new location had to be found to host party goers in attendance. This is the only cannabis event in Canada that is openly allowing the consumption of marijuana, and the only place it will also be available for sale during the traditional celebration of weed.
When: Saturday, April 20 from 11am-8pm
Where: This event will take place at 420 Vancouver which is located at 1204 Beach Avenue
