Valentine's day is almost here and with it comes the challenge of buying something that is perfect for that special someone. For some people, this particular holiday brings nothing but anxiety as they fret over choosing a gift their sweetheart will love. Shopping for such an intimate holiday doesn’t have to be so stressful or based on traditional gifts like jewelry or flowers, especially if your lover is someone who enjoys partaking in a little green. Now there is always the option of buying your sweetie a new piece like a bong or a pipe, but there are some “out of the box” marijuana-themed gifts to consider. Here you will find five unique cannabis gift ideas that are perfect for Valentine’s day.

1. Weed chocolate

This one may be a bit more traditional than others here, but it comes with a twist that you just won’t find in a Hershey’s Bar or typical heart-shaped box of chocolates. Some people are lucky enough to have access to THC infused chocolate through their local dispensary, but most of us must make our own. With a little thought and just a few ingredients, you can make your very own weed chocolate that is flavored any way you like. This recipe is short and simpleand can be done in layers alternating white and dark chocolate for a truly rich experience. Play with the flavors by adding a few drops of your favorite extracts like orange or mint. If you want to get creative, you can even use cupcake liners and a fancy decorated box from the store which will make the gift look more professional.

Ingredients

  • 8 grams of cannabis
  • 300 grams of dark chocolate melts

Tools

  • 1 microwave safe bowl
  • 1 set of chocolate molds (or ice cube tray)
  • 1 microwave
  • 1 grinder
  • 1 cookie sheet
  • parchment paper

Instructions

  1. The first step is to decarboxylate the bud. You can do this by preheating an oven to 115 Celsius and baking the cannabis on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet for 35 minutes.
  2. Use a grinder to thoroughly ground up the decarboxylated herb.
  3. Add chocolate melts to a microwave safe bowl and heat on high in 30-second intervals. Remove it and stir between each one. Once the chocolate has completely melted, you can add in the cannabis. Stir the mixture well.
  4. Pour the weed chocolate into chocolate molds or ice cube trays and refrigerate to harden for one hour.
  5. Remove the chocolates from the moldsand package them. These chocolates will stay goodway longer than it will take to eat them.

2. THC infused edible arrangement

Everyone knows about regular edible arrangements. It’s basically a pot of fruit that is set up in a visually appealing way. The downside to this is that they use regular fruit and no infusions. What many don’t realize is that it’s incredibly easy to make one of your own. The best way to make a THC infused edible arrangement is by selecting your favorite fruits and coating them in weed chocolate. Below you will find exactly how to make a beautiful edible arrangement of your own with just a handful of items. Remember, the more fruit you use, the fancier it will look in the end, and the more likely you may be to need a little bit more weed chocolate so try to have some extra on hand if you can. This gift should also be made no more than 24 hours before you plan on presenting it to your giftee.

Ingredients

WW
  • 1 cup of weed chocolate
  • fruit of choice cubed (apple, banana, pineapple, watermelon, strawberry, pear, etc.)

Tools & Materials

  • 1 glass measuring cup
  • pack of wooden skewers (at least 12)
  • 1 fancy vase or container
  • 1 piece of styrofoam (to fit inside of the container)
  • 1 knife
  • 1 saucepan
  • 1 cookie sheet
  • parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Measure your container of choice to see how far down you have to shape the chunk of styrofoam. Use a knife to carve off small pieces at a time. The goal is to get as snug of a fit as possible as this is the part that needs to support the fruit. Once you have, it figured out, and your styrofoam is resting inside of the container you can set it aside for now.
  2. Add weed chocolate to a glass measuring cup and place it in the center of a saucepan.
  3. Fill the saucepan about ¾ of the way with water and set the burner to a low heat setting. Be sure to check on it periodically as you prepare the rest as it will melt and you want to avoid burning it.
  4. As you wait for the chocolate to melt you can prepare your fruit. No matter what kind you choose they should be cut into pieces that are approximately 1 inch thick.
  5. Once the fruit is cubed, you can feed them onto the wooden skewers. There is no perfect number of cubes, just try to make sure you have an even amount for each skewer to look the same. That is what will create the bouquet style effect.
  6. After you have all of the fruit skewered and ready to be dipped the chocolate should be fully melted. It’s time to prepare the resting place for your freshly dipped fruit. Place a layer of parchment paper on a cookie sheet and have it as close to the melted chocolate as possible to avoid drips.
  7. Now you can dip each one into the melted weed chocolate. Slowly submerge as much of the fruit as you can and carefully pull it back out. Don’t worry if it doesn’t all get coated as that will amplify the effect once it’s put together. Place each one with breathing room on the parchment paper to harden. This takes five minutes in the fridge and around 10 minutes at room temperature. You will know they are ready when you can lift them without any chocolate in liquid form remaining on the parchment paper.
  8. Now it’s time to set up your edible arrangement. Begin in the center and force the skewer into the styrofoam base. Once it is stable, you can move on to the next one. Try to keep them as evenly spaced out as possible.
  9. Once they are all in, the THC infused edible arrangement is complete. You can either present it as is or you can wrap it for a more special effect it's entirely up to you.

3. THC infused weed lube

Out of all the unique marijuana accessories you will find on the market this one is by far the most intimate. It creates a tingly and heightened feeling of sensation that can be an exciting addition to any bedroom. The best part is it’s really easy to make, and fancy containers to present it in can be found at your local dollar store for a buck. This is the easiest all natural completely organic weed lube recipe you will ever see.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces of coconut oil
  • 8 grams of cannabis
  • water

Tools

  • 2 resealable glass mason jars
  • 1 grinder
  • 1 crock pot
  • cheesecloth
  • 1 elastic
  • oven
  • 1 glass measuring cup

Instructions

  1. The first step is to decarboxylate your bud. You can do this by baking it on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet at 240 Fahrenheit for 35 minutes.
  2. Once the cannabis is cool enough to touch you will need to grind it up.
  3. Add half of the bud grind and half of the coconut oil to each jar.
  4. Seal the jars and place them inside of a crock pot.
  5. Fill a pot that will hold enough water to completely submerge the jars. Bring the water to a boil and then pour it over the sealed containers.
  6. The crockpot can now be set to the lowest cooking setting. After one hour the jars should be removed and shaken before being put back in. Repeat this process every hour until the mixture has cooked for 5 full hours.
  7. Turn off the crockpot, drain the water, and remove the mason jars. Place them somewhere they can cool down but do not refrigerate them, or the glass might shatter.
  8. Once they have cooled, cover the top of one of the mason jars with cheesecloth and attach it with an elastic.
  9. Dump the liquid into a large glass measuring cup. This is straining and removing the plant material. Once you have finished, you can squeeze out any remaining liquid from the cheesecloth and dispose of it.
  10. Do the same with the second jar using a new cheesecloth lining.
  11. Now you can pour the freshly made weed lube into a dispensing container. It’s ready to use immediately.
