Just how much dried weed does the average pot plant yield?

Your average pot plant yield is going to depend on several determining factors. The most significant contributing factors will be the strain you choose to grow and the environment in which it will live in. However, the average pot plant yield is usually between 150 and 300 grams of dried weed. To more specifically determine your crop’s potential, we will focus solely on indoor growing methods, requirements, and average yields.

How Much Can You Harvest from One Weed Plant That Is Grown Indoors?

Growing cannabis in an indoor grow room can provide precise control over the most critical environmental factors in the overall yield you should expect. The primary challenge is simulating an artificial space that resembles and acts as the perfect outdoor environment for marijuana plants to thrive.

Lighting - An experienced grower should expect to see approximately one gram of dried weed for every watt your light produces. As an example, a seasoned grower should be able to produce 600 grams using only a 600-watt light. They key to getting the most out of an indoor grow room is adding as much light as possible.

Nutrients - The number of nutrients you feed a cannabis plant can as much as double an average pot plant yield. Proper nutrients when using soil are established by either creating a super soilor using a fertilizer. The most effective and least strenuous on a marijuana plant is fertilizer that is present in the dirt before the plant is even established.

Air quality - Cannabis plants thrive on higher levels of CO2. To reproduce this, you will need to have sufficient air exchanging that will be consistently drawing in air from outside.

Room to grow - Marijuana plants will require a sufficient amount of space to grow in. If any of your plant’s leaves are touching walls or light fixtures than your average pot plant yield will suffer for it, not only will it not be able to stretch out, but it will be impossible for the entire plant to receive sufficient light as walls that are too close create unnecessary shadows.

Temperature - The temperature and moisture in your grow room will also aid a cannabis plant in producing not only more substantial amounts but even more important, more potent buds. You should always maintain an average of 24 C to 26 C with a humidity level that hovers just above 50% for optimal results.

Average pot plant yield in grams

There are some pretty significant discrepancies between the lowest and highest average yields that should be expected. Lower estimates are geared more towards inexperienced growers, and higher ones can be produced by seasoned growers. The general rule here is that you should never have more than four plants per light and that your fixtures and the square footage of your grow room are both essential parts of producing the highest yield possible.

  • To achieve an average pot plant yield that is between 40 grams and 100 grams of dried weed you will need a 200W light fixture that should be in a space that is approximately 1mx0.5mx2m.
  • To achieve an average pot plant yield that is between 80 grams and 250 grams of dried weed you will need a 250W light fixture that should be in a space that is approximately 1mx0.5mx2m.
  • To achieve an average pot plant yield that is between 100 grams and 400 grams of dried weed you will need a 400W light fixture that should be in a space that is approximately 1mx1mx2.5m.
  • To achieve an average pot plant yield that is between 150 grams and 600 grams of dried weed you will need a 600W light fixture that should be in a space that is approximately 1.2mx1.2mx2.5m.
  • To achieve an average pot plant yield that is between 250 grams and 1000 grams of dried weed you will need a 1000W light fixture that should be in sa space that is approximately 1.5mx1. 5mx2. 5m.
