Dancehall Tours - hosted by Pantason - Episode 11 - Skillibeng
Welcome to Dancehall Tours a series where we interview artists about how cannabis plays a part in their music.
Today our host Pantason interviews Jamaican Dancehall artiste Skillibeng. It has been a taxing journey for deejay Skillibeng, but his efforts have borne fruit with the success of his song, Brik Pan Brik, produced by East Syde Records. It has been seven years now that he has been doing music professionally, and thanks to East Syde Records and Claims Records, he has moved from the underground to the mainstream.
Skillibeng made his recording debut in 2016 with Brain Parts on the Purge rhythm. Life ah Life, his first song to be released, came out on East Syde Records. Other recently released songs include Skilli She Love and Pain and Emotion.
He is the latest artiste representing for the parish of St Thomas in Dancehall. Fans are immediately curious about his stage name, 'skillibeng', which is a popular slang or toasting style in the world of Dancehall, used by deejays from the 1980s and early 1990s.
Listen as this amazing talent share how cannabis influences his music.
