How to make and use jelly hash
Are you looking for something new to try? These days experienced consumers craving a high THC effect have numerous options when it comes to cannabis concentrates, which are perfect for those with an established tolerance. Jelly hash is one of the most unique products out there, and here we’ll show you what it is, how to make it, and how to use it.
What is jelly hash?
All hash is made using the trichomes of the plant aka kief, which contains much of the plant’s wonderful resin and compounds that deliver a wide variety of effects and benefits. Terpenes, cannabinoids, and phytochemicals can all help to support human body systems and functions, and they are all in jelly hash. This hash consists of nothing more than a few key ingredients, but it is powerful, and effective, in particular for those seeking relief from pain and elevated experiences.
How to make jelly hash
It isn’t difficult to make jelly hash. All you need to do is follow a simple set of instructions and obtain the listed ingredients, which make up the jelly hash base. Every producer makes their jelly hash in a slightly different way using a unique ratio, we highly recommend going with 80% bubble hash with 20% hash oil or honey oil.
What you’ll need
- 1 large heat-resistant glass container
- 8 parts unpressed bubble hash
- 2 parts hash oil or honey oil
- 1 small blow torch or lighter
- 1 metal cocktail stirrer
- A timer
Pour the hash or honey oil into a large heat-resistant glass container. Apply a bit of heat to the oil container as necessary if it’s too thin to run.
Use the torch to heat up the bottom of the glass container, keeping some distance between the flame and oil to avoid accidental combustion.
Add the hash to the oil a little bit at a time, stirring continuously as you go.
Watch the jelly hash and its texture as you go, adding more kief until you’re satisfied with the thickness of the cannabis concentrate. Ideally, the consistency should be similar to a light syrup.
The longer it remains exposed to the heat, the thicker it will get so pay close attention and keep cooking the concentrate until you’re satisfied with the results.
Leave the jelly to cool for 10 minutes before pouring it into a freezer-safe baggie, and placing it in the freezer for 2 minutes.
Retrieve the jelly hash from the freezer and use your hands to mold it into a shape you enjoy.
How to use jelly hash
Unlike some other types of hash and oil alone, jelly hash has a solid kief base which makes it far more combustible, which makes it much easier to smoke it. Though it is still highly recommended to place jelly hash on a bed of freshly ground cannabis to ensure the sticky goodness doesn’t clog up your device, it is smokable and compatible with some vaporizers. If you want to eat or make edibles with your homemade jelly hash, then you’ll need to put the concentrate through the process of decarbing first.
