Preparation time: 20 minutes

Calories: 172 per 5 meatballs
Servings: 48 meatballs
- 1 egg
- 2 pounds of ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups ketchup
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup cider vinegar
- ½ cup cannabis-infused oil
- 10 tablespoons brown sugar
- 10 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons strawberry jam (or any other sweet berry jam/honey)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Large mixing bowl
- Medium mixing bowl
- Medium pot
- Slow cooker
Combine the meatball ingredients in a large mixing bowl, then roll the mixture into 2-inch balls. It’s best to keep them as uniform in shape and size as possible to ensure even cooking throughout.
Fry the meatballs in a large skillet until brown, which should take approximately 15-20 minutes, turning them regularly to ensure they are equally crispy on the outsides.
Transfer the meatballs into a slow cooker, and then whip up a batch of cannabis-infused barbeque sauce, by mixing all of the ingredients together until smooth in a medium bowl.
Cover the meatballs in barbeque sauce, stir to ensure there is some on the bottom, and then put the lid on, and set the slow cooker to its highest setting.
Cook the meatballs in the sauce for 4 full hours.
Now you’ve got a batch of freshly made meatballs that are ready to use or freeze for later.
Storage tips and tricks
Store meatballs in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days, or in the freezer where they’ll stay protected for several months. When freezing, it’s a good idea to separate each batch into smaller portions so that it’s easy to thaw only as much as you need when you need it, rather than having to eat all of them in one sitting.
Ways to eat cannabis meatballs
Now that you’ve done all of the hard work, it’s time to decide how you want to eat these delicious morsels, and there’s no shortage of perfectly suitable options to choose from. Enjoy them alone, serve them up on slices of bread, or sub buns, pour a hearty helping over a portion of pasta or rice, or use them to make other recipes that call for meatballs. If you’re looking for a truly unique treat, they can also be crushed and added to dishes like shepherd's pie, or lasagna.
