Edibles are all the rage these days with methods for creating cannabis-infused everything appearing en mass every single day, but have you ever heard of weed sugar? Weed sugar, AKA cannabis sugar is a simple way to add an extra kick to all of your favorite recipes that require regular sugar. Cannabis infused sugar will produce a euphoric and relaxing effect in those who ingest it that will last for hours. Everything from cakes, pies, cookies, ice cream, sauces, drinks, and more can be made using weed sugar as a replacement for granulated sugar.

Weed Sugar Recipe

This recipe is simple and requires only a handful of tools you likely have in the kitchen already. To adjust the potency, you can add more or less cannabis, but the strength of this recipe is considered moderate as it is written so keep that in mind.

  • 7 grams of dried cannabis
  • 1 cup of alcohol (highest proof available)
  • 1 cup of white granulated sugar

  • oven
  • 1 cookie sheet
  • 1 sheet of parchment paper
  • 1 large sealable jar
  • 1 layer of cheesecloth
  • 1 glass baking pan
  • 1 grinder
  • 1 elastic
  • 1 bowl
  • 1 mixing tool

  1. Set your oven to 250F as you prepare your ingredients.
  2. Grind your dry herb using a grinder or scissors.
  3. Place a single layer of parchment paper over a cookie sheet.
  4. Spread the bud grind evenly over the parchment paper.
  5. Bake the bud in a preheated oven for 35 minutes. During this time the chemical THCA will be converted into THC which is what activates the psychoactive components you want in your sugar. This process is called decarboxylation.
  6. Remove from oven and set aside to cool.
  7. Lower the oven temperature to 200F.
  8. Dump the decarboxylated bud into a glass jar.
  9. Add alcohol to the jar and secure the lid shut.
  10. Give it a good shake and let it sit for five minutes before shaking it again. Continue to repeat this process until at least 20 minutes have passed.
  11. Now you will need to get your bowl ready as it is time to strain any plant material from the mixture.
  12. Place one piece of cheesecloth over the spout of the jar and fasten it with one elastic. Flip the jar upside down over the top of the bowl to collect the strained liquid.
  13. Once it has finished straining, you can remove the filter and squeeze it while holding any plant matter in the center, so that it doesn't run into the bowl. This will allow you to collect a few final drops of extract.
  14. Add the sugar to the bowl containing the infused alcohol. Mix until most of the sugar has dissolved.
  15. Pour the liquid into a glass baking dish and place in an oven where it should bake for approximately 30-40 minutes. This process may be longer or shorter depending on your oven. During the baking time, the liquid should be checked on every five minutes to prevent burning.
  16. Once all of the alcohol has evaporated, you will be left with cannabis-infused sugar that is ready to use.
  17. Empty sugar into an airtight container to store until you are prepared to use it. To maintain freshness and potency keep it in a cool dark space.

The amazing thing about apple pie recipes is that they require a generous helping of sugar making it a perfect option for those seeking a potent dose of THC by adding weed sugar. Use whatever type of apple you prefer, and this recipe will still turn out great, but the most recommended apples are generally slightly tart.

  5. Line both pie pans with pie crust. (skip this step if you have premade pies that come in shells.)
  6. Rub the butter into the bottom of the pie shell spreading it as evenly as possible.
  7. Dump the coated apples into the pie crust.
  8. Place the top shell over the apples lining up the edges.
  9. Press the edges together with a dampened fork to create a seal.
  10. Bake the pie in a preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until the shell has reached a golden brown color. If the crust browns too quickly you can raise it up a rack and lower the temperature to 350 for the remainder of the cooking time.
