How to make cannabis-infused bacon shot glasses
Nothing goes together quite as well as weed and bacon, and this project combines the two in a way that makes them the ideal delivery device for alcohol, which makes the whole idea even more magical. If alcohol isn’t your thing, then you can also fill these cannabis-infused bacon cups with things like egg, sausage, waffle, pancake or hash browns for a fancy display, but we highly recommend trying every way that you can think of at least once so that you can experience this guilty pleasure for yourself in all of its glory.
Cannabis-infused chocolate-coated shot glasses
Baking bacon into tiny little glasses is a really fun and surprisingly, incredibly easy thing to do, and it combines all of your favorite ingredients into one delicious treat that will have you hooked in no time. Just remember that putting bacon in the oven will cause some splatter and mess, so it’s a good idea to use a cookie sheet or two as catchers, to avoid a messy clean up when you’re done.
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
- 2 packs (375-gram) of thinly sliced bacon
- ½ cup of chocolate chips
- 2 heaping tablespoons cannabutter
- Alcoholic drink of choice
- 6 empty paper towel rolls
- Aluminum foil
- Cookie sheets
- Microwave safe bowl
- Sauce brush
To start, you will need to ensure that all of the paper towel bits have been removed from the rolls, and then use scissors to cut each of them into pieces that match the shot glass size that you’d like to create.
Now preheat the oven to 375°F and then use aluminum foil to close up the one end of the tubes. This will help to support that baking bacon so that it doesn’t fall inwards, which would result in a misshaped shot glass.
Use slices of bacon to wrap the aluminum foil shot glasses, until every inch possible is covered. This might take a couple of layers if you want to be sure that they don’t leak, however, don’t apply more than 2 slices to one area or you’ll risk uneven cooking.
Once all of the little bacon cups are wrapped, they can be placed on a baking sheet, and then tossed into the over for anywhere between 20-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
When the bacon shot glasses are done cooking, retrieve them from the oven and allow them to cool enough that the bacon hardens enough to hold its shape.
Carefully remove the molds using a spoon to gently pry it away from the greasy bacon edges.
Next, you’ll need to make the chocolatey coating, which helps to seal the deal so that your shot glasses don’t leak, plus it gives them a super sweet finish that is just perfection. To do that, add both the cannabutter and chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl and then heat them on high in 30-second intervals until the chips are completely melted.
Take a whisk to the cannabis-infused mixture to thoroughly combine them into a velvety and creamy texture that is even and lump-free.
Make sure that all of your bacon shot glasses are faced open side up and completely cooled before using a sauce brush to apply a thick layer of chocolate to the inside of each one.
Your masterpiece is finally complete, and you can enjoy them as is, or place them in the refrigerator to cool, which helps the chocolate to last longer rather than dissolving entirely once alcohol is added to the combination.
