Homemade toasted bruschetta bites with cannabis oil
‘Tis the season of office parties and family gatherings, and one of the best options to keep on hand at this time of year is this bruschetta recipe. It makes it really easy to feed a small army in no time with a few simple measurement adjustments, and it offers an intoxicating treat for the adult participant that might not enjoy more traditional options like alcohol. The only complaint you will get about these incredible edibles is that it’s hard to stop at two, which is the recommended amount per person, so keep that in mind as you monitor your guests and decide how to serve individual portions.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
- 1 baguette
- 4 large tomatoes (cored and diced)
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- ¼ cup fresh basil (thinly sliced)
- 4 tablespoons of cannabis oil (olive)
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- Baking dish
- Large bowl
- Mixing spoon
- Baking sheet
- Sharp bread knife
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Add the tomatoes and minced garlic to a deep baking dish, then bake them in the oven for 4 minutes, removing the pan to stir the ingredients halfway through.
Dump the freshly stewed tomatoes into a large mixing bowl along with the salt, vinegar, basil, and cannabis oil.
Thoroughly combine the ingredients until the mixture has all the colors evenly spread throughout.
Toss in the garlic and give everything a final stir before letting it all marinate for 30 minutes.
Use a sharp bread knife to cut the loaf into slices that are less than 1inch thick.
Place all the bread pieces on a baking sheet and spread them out evenly.
Give each bread slice a small layer of butter before baking them in the oven for 10-15 minutes, and don’t forget to turn them halfway for even toasting.
Now scoop a fair amount of the tomato mixture onto each of the toasted bread slices and serve them immediately for the best flavor.
Cannabis oil can come in many different strengths so it is important to note that your homemade bruschetta might be a lot stronger than someone else’s, which is why it is so important to consume these delightful treats in moderation.
How long do these incredible edibles take to kick in?
Edibles deliver the euphoric cannabinoid THC through the stomach and since it can take a while for the snacks to make it that far, it can take up to 2 hours before you begin to feel the effects of them take hold. Hence, it’s always recommended to wait at least 2 hours between servings, so that you don’t accidentally ingest more than you are comfortable with.
How long will the effects of these edibles last?
How long you might feel impacted by edibles will depend on several factors including the strength of the product, how much you take, your tolerance level, and how quickly your body processes the cannabinoids. While it might be impossible to predict for certain, we do know that cannabis edibles can continue to affect a consumer for up to 12 hours after they indulge, so expect it to take that long for all of the sensations and side effects to wear off completely.
