Self-care is something that many of us toss on the back burner, as our fast-paced lives don’t allow for a whole lot of me-time, but if you want to look good and feel great, it should be a priority. There are many ways that you could do that, like heading out to the spa, or to your favorite masseuse, but those things cost money and take up valuable hours from the day that we might not be willing to part with for a bit of relaxation.

Luckily, not every option available is so draining, and one of the easiest, cheapest, and most fun self-care products is something that you can add to your daily routine and it only takes a few seconds to do. Most of us already have some sort of routine that might include a nightly scrub or morning makeup session, and this soothing cannabis-infused setting spray and face mist can be helpful at both of those critical points in the day.

In the morning

When you first wake up and get out of a nice, hot shower to start the day, all of your pores will be wide open, and that is the perfect time to use this cannabis-infused face mist. It can help to cool down the skin while moisturizing with some of the most natural ingredients, which is a big part of what makes it work as an excellent setting spray.

A setting spray can be used before makeup is applied, but the goal with this type of product is most often to make your foundation, eye shadow, blush, and other extras settle in a smooth way that looks completely natural and lasts for hours on end.

During the day

A soothing face mist is an awesome tool for little pick me ups throughout the day, so make sure to keep an extra bottle on hand when you’re on the go. A little burst of freshness here and there can help to keep you cool, maintain your perfectly placed makeup for longer wear, and it will wake you up, leaving you feeling invigorated, motivated and smelling great all day long.

Late at night

The setting spray feature becomes relatively useless come nighttime, as we remove our makeup long before bed, but this is when the face mist works its magic the best because there is no barrier between your skin and the nutrient-filled solution. The soothing anti-inflammatory effects can heal the wear and tear from the day, and it works to effectively minimize pores, which gives you the best start for the next day.

DIY – Setting spray and face mist

Now that you know about some of the most popular benefits of this kind of cannabis product, it’s time to help you on your way to making your very first batch! Below, you will find a simple, gentle recipe that works well as both a setting spray and a face mist, but after a few tests with this combination, you might want to switch things up a bit.

Just remember to stick to liquid skin safe ingredients, and to conduct spot tests before going too crazy with it, just in case you might have a sensitivity to an included ingredient.

You will need:

  • Glass spritz bottle
  • Small pot
  • Measuring cup with a spout (or funnel)
  • ½ cup of water
  • 1 tea bag (green tea is excellent for wrinkles)
  • 2 drops of vitamin E oil
  • 1 drop of eucalyptus oil
  • 2-4 drops of cannabis oil

  1. Begin by adding ½ cup of water to a small pot, throwing in a teabag, and bringing it all to a boil over medium heat.

  2. Once the liquid hits a rolling boil, remove it from the heat and pour it into a spouted measuring cup. If you are opting to use a funnel instead, then you will need to wait for the temperature of the water to get cool enough that it is safe to handle.

  3. Remove the teabag from the water, and then use a funnel or spouted measuring cup to empty the water into a glass spritz bottle.

  4. Add the remaining ingredients, replace the cap on the spritz bottle, and shake the contents vigorously for 1-2 minutes.

Your fresh batch of spray is now loaded and ready for daily use, but it’s important to remember that this soothing face mist works best if the ingredients are slightly agitated with a good shake before each misting, as the oils do tend to separate over time.
