A cannabutter infused apple cinnamon french toast recipe
It really doesn’t matter what time of the day it is, fresh toast is an amazing snack or meal, and you don’t even have to feel guilty about indulging if you add enough fruit to make the dish a bit healthier. The best part about this french toast recipe is that it can work with almost any baking alternative that you can think of to suit any diet and to help, we have included a list of alternative ingredients to choose from so that no one has to miss out on these sweet edible treats.
You can also alter the strength of the recipe based on what is most suitable for the tolerance levels and experience of those being served, so for a light and mild beginner’s recipe, you can add a splash of THC to the french toast using only cannabutter and skipping the oil, but for anyone seeking a more intense concoction that is ideal for seasoned consumers with a well-established tolerance to THC, it might be better to go the extra mile and add the cannabis oil to the sauce as well.
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
- 2 large apples (peeled and sliced)
- 8 slices of french bread
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup 2% milk
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons of cannabutter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of cannabis oil
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Maple syrup
- Two large saucepans
- Medium mixing bowl
Toss 2 tablespoons of cannabutter, the apple slices, cinnamon, and brown sugar into the saucepan and set the burner to medium heat.
Cook the apples in the sauce for approximately 5 minutes or until tender, then turn off the burner.
In a bowl that is only slightly wider than a piece of bread, add the eggs, vanilla, milk and cannabis oil and blend them together with a whisk.
In a clean saucepan, add the remaining cannabutter and set the burner to medium heat until it melts.
Dip each slice of bread one side at a time into the milk and oil mixture then place them in the sizzling hot frying pan for approximately 5 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
Set 2 french toast slices on each plate and garnish them with an even scoop of the apple mixture, and a dollop of maple syrup for extra sweetness.
French toast recipe ingredient alternatives
2% milk: In place of cow’s milk, you could use almond milk, soymilk, hemp milk, or any other kind of milk alternative.
French bread: Any other kind of bread of bun will work perfectly for this recipe, but make sure that it is thinly sliced just like a piece of bread so that it fries evenly.
Brown sugar: Though it may slightly reduce the sweetness, you can always replace brown sugar with a sweetener like Splenda.
Maple syrup: Real maple syrup is the best, but it is also the highest in calories and sugar and comes with a deep flavor that not everyone is fond of. Instead of maple syrup, you can use an imitation recipe, corn syrup, or go a whole different direction and substitute the sugar-filled sauce for white icing sugar.
