Spiritually uplifting activities that go great with cannabis

We’re inching towards the last of these cold, dreary nights, leaving most of us in a spot where we could really use a boost, mentally, physically, and spiritually. You don’t have to be religious to get a whole host of benefits from these incredibly uplifting activities, all of which go perfectly with the effects of cannabis.

1. Trailblazing

Depending on where you are, it might not be warm enough for this, but if it is, there’s nothing better to shake those winter blues than a cool, crisp walk through a nice forest or conservation area. Roll a few joints and go explore local trails. You never know what you’ll find or how much relief it might provide for the mind and soul.

2. Yoga

Yoga is designed to bring a sense of harmony to the body and mind because it makes you stop, focus, and stretch in ways you might have never otherwise known were possible. Whether or not you believe in the spiritual aspect of it all, one thing is for sure, and it’s that this activity feels great, and with a bit of cannabis just before to enhance the experience or just after to heal, it’ll go down easy, even without any prior experience.

3. Massage

Getting a good massage (and no, we don’t necessarily mean the sexual kind) can help by reducing aches and pains, alleviating soreness and tension, and improving blood pressure, circulation, alertness, and energy levels, which is really the pick me up we all need after a long, cold winter. Have a few hits beforehand to help you fully immerse yourself in the experience, or after to prolong those wonderful tingles as much as possible.

4. Church mass

This option isn’t one for everyone, but even if you’re not a firm believer, you might be surprised how uplifted it can make you feel to attend such a wholesome presentation. Sing for the moment, connect with neighbours and feel an intense sense of community. It might be exactly the thing you need to get out of the house and back to living. Of course, unless it’s a canna-church, they might not allow consumption on-site, but a good spliff beforehand will certainly improve your outlook on every moment spent there.

5. Stargazing

Once the sun goes down, there’s not a whole lot to do at this time of year, but there’s always a sky full of shiny stars that are free to appreciate, and you might be pleasantly surprised by how much this activity can help to reconnect you to nature. Bring a map of constellations to look for, and pack a few blunts for the occasion. After some fresh air and gazing up at the universe, it’ll be hard not to feel so much better.

6. Canoeing

As the snow and ice melt, the water once again flows freely, and there’s nothing quite so soothing as a good few hours on the water. It’s a rush in fast areas, relaxing during the down times when you get a chance to truly appreciate your surroundings, and out in the open, there’s no one to stop you from getting high along the way. It’s a really fun experience that can get the blood pumping and somehow be soothing all at once.

7. Dancing

Sitting around blowing smoke can be good, but if you get your blood pumping, it’ll enhance the effects, and then if you put music on top of it all, which we know complements the experience, you just can’t go wrong. Whether it’s country, rock, rap, dance, or the blues, your favourite tunes will help to make your soul feel whole again while also ensuring you get a fair amount of exercise as a sort of warm-up to summer.

8. Growing cannabis

It’s way too early to get started on our outdoor gardens, however, there’s nothing in the way of an indoor project, which can act as a motivator, and just the right amount of fun. Make up some super soil, learn along the way, and get some seedlings in the ground. Your future crop and your soul will thank you for tending to it in such a natural way.

9. Sensory deprivation

This idea is not for the faint of heart nor the inexperienced, because it can be scary the very first time to cut yourself off from the rest of the world so abruptly, but the science doesn’t lie, and this kind of treatment can really open up the mind. Catch a buzz and blot out all of the human distractions we’re surrounded by – you might be surprised just how much you can learn about yourself and your thoughts by doing so.

10. Meditation

Meditation is a powerful practice that can help to balance both the body and the mind, much like the average consumer expects from cannabis, so as you can probably imagine, combining the two is an incredibly effective way to enhance the whole experience. It can bring on a soothing sense of calm and peace that will be uplifting emotionally, so why not give it a shot?
