Making new friends isn’t always easy, and it helps when you know how to meet like-minded individuals who make you feel comfortable. Now that pot is legal in so many different regions around the world, and it has opened up the lines of communication for the average stoner who wants to find friends to toke with, you just need to know how to use the resources that are available to make that happen.

Luckily, this idea isn’t a new one, so there is plenty for easily searched connecting platforms and groups online, and we are here today to highlight some of the best ones out there.

1. Join Facebook groups

Facebook still maintains that they are against advertising for ganja products, but its users are free to connect over a shared love for the cannabis plant. Just click on the search bar and type in anything cannabis-related to start joining groups, which will allow you to have conversations with fellow stoners from all over the world.

2. Always make plans for 420

This unofficial holiday is always celebrated through 420 friendly events and protects, and no matter where you are, there is bound to be something big going on nearby. Some 420 celebrations draw crowds of thousands of people, and there really is no better way to connect with other cannabis lovers than in person as you share a joint and party together.

3. Check out 420 friendly social media platforms

Facebook might be one of the most popular social media platforms for the average person, but it isn’t exactly 420 friendly, as it restricts a lot of information and posts from being seen, but that isn’t the case with some of the more exciting alternatives to hit the scene like Grass City Forums, or Jadeo.

4. Browse through hundreds of personal videos on WeedTube

WeedTube is a whole lot like YouTube, only you aren’t going to find any of those odd kinds of egg surprise unboxing videos there. This website is more than 420 friendly, as it caters to every type of stoner by providing an open and unrestricted platform to share content and information that has anything to do with the ganja. Watch some fantastic cannabis videos and connect with fellow consumers from all over the planet with only one click.

5. Follow local cannabis-themed groups on Twitter

Twitter took the world by storm and is currently one of the most popular social media platforms on the internet today, and though they don’t quite offer the same experience as Facebook, their rules are also nowhere near as restricted to users. That means that cannabis-related groups thrive there, which makes it the perfect place to search for some new stoner friends.

6. Download the Best Buds app (or something similar)

Google Play has Best Buds, along with several other cool apps that are designed with potheads in mind, and most other services like Amazon and Apple feature similar options through their online stores. Some are meant for consumers who need a date, while others are geared more towards social tokers who need someone to smoke with, so be sure to read the description carefully before downloading, so there are no uncomfortable surprises.

7. Make frequent visits to your local marijuana dispensary

It might save you some money to buy your ganja in bulk, but it takes away a powerful tool for connecting. There are very few stores that you can go into and safely assume that everyone inside is either a stoner or in the very least comfortable with those who are, which makes it one of the best places to find fellow cannabis enthusiasts.

8. Keep up to date on 420 friendly concerts and events

420 friendly venues may be few and far between, but a quick Google search will reveal hundreds of cannabis-themed events near you. They could be concerts, industry shows, comedy tours, and more, there is almost always something that you could enjoy while making new stoner friends, you just have to go a bit out of your way to find them sometimes.

9. Be open and honest about your love for the ganja

A lot of the ways that are listed here require money, time, and force you to go out of your way to meet people, but the most meaningful connections will typically be with those that are close enough to hang out with regularly. Hence the reason why one of the best ways to make like-minded friends is as simple as being honest with the people around you who you spend the most time with, and something as simple as an innocuous comment is often all that it takes to get the ball rolling.

10. Smoke a joint in a public place

Whipping out a flashy bong or joint in a public space is one of the best ways to get the attention of fellow stoners who might be walking by. This idea might not be one that works for everyone, but you will never know for certain how it will all turn out until you try.
