5 Fun ways to celebrate 420 during the COVID-19 pandemic
Stoners everywhere have been waiting for years for the ultimate 420 friendly date, and now that it’s here, most of us are stuck in lockdown, with all of our favorite cannabis events canceled. It’s an unfortunate situation, to say the least, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make the best of it with the tools that we do have at our disposal.
Making lemons into lemonade may not be what you wanted to do this year as most of us look forward to large gathering with like-minded people, but if you try it, you might just find that thinking outside the box leads to the most fantastic 420 yet, and to help get you started we’ve got five incredible ideas that you can adjust to personalize the best pandemic party the world has ever seen.
1. Hold your own dance party
Right now, we have to stay inside as much as possible, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t host the most epic dance party ever, you’ll just have to get creative while you do it. Host a watch party on Facebook so you can do it will all of your friends, or get some neighbors involved and turn it into a huge community-wide event. We can all still safely party this year’s 420 holiday together, from the comfort of our own living room, so why not give it a try yourself. You might just start a new trend.
2. Video game competitions
Some stoners like to party hard while they toke the night away, but a lot of us prefer a quieter version of 420 festivities with our closest friends and without breaking a sweat. One of the best ways to use this idea on 420, is to invite all of your pals to online events, or to run through some team skills building games that allow you to talk, play, and get high together, no matter how far away from one another you might be.
3. Take in the stars and a comet
There is nothing quite as relaxing as sitting back outdoors on a nice, crisp night and looking up at the sky while you listen to all of nature's music, but this month is extra special, and not just because it’s 420. Sure, all of the stars and the moon will be out as per usual, but this year you’ll be able to watch the comet ATLAS as it slowly breaks apart due to its close proximity to the sun. The glowing orb has been visible since early March, and it will continue to light up the sky for all of April this year.
4. Experiment with new cannabis products
Unless you are one of the brave few that is working for an essential service company, chances are pretty good that you won’t have work to wake up to, or much at all to do following the big day, which is why it’s the perfect time to get lost is a potent buzz brought on by some cannabis products that you haven't quite worked yourself up to trying before. Toss back some edibles or roll the biggest and fattest joint you’ve ever seen. No matter which one you choose, this 420 is sure to be one you’ll remember for years to come.
5. Watch 420 friendly movies and shows
At one time, we had to wait an entire week for the next episode of our favorite shows to come out, and though that is still often the case today, we now have services like Netflix that offer complete seasons and movies of binge-worthy materials, including many that are cannabis-themed. So, sit back, relax, and laugh with Cheech and Chong or get serious with some High Maintenance. You won’t regret it, and it’s an affordable option that can help to pass the day away.
What does 420 mean to you?
This is an excellent place to start for ideas, but for a truly incredible 420 friendly plan, you’re going to need to reflect on what it is that 420 means to you. For some, it’s a great day to reflect on wrongdoings of the past, and the brightness that lies ahead in the future, but for others, it’s an unmissable holiday that needs to go out with a bang. So, make sure that you incorporate as many of the things that you love as possible, to make this the best pandemic 420 in history!
