Women and cannabis

Jane West

West started her influential cannabis business in 2014 with her start-up company Edible Events. She started one of Denver Colorado’s premiere cannabis event planning businesses. Jane’s reputation for being an expert in the field of marijuana began to grow; she became a well-known cannabis activist, known best for founding, Women Grow, a cannabis networking organization. In 2016 she was named the “most recognizable female personality in cannabis.”

Ophelia Chong

Ophelia immigrated to the states to attend the college of the design art center. After her graduation, she received her green card, and in 2000 she became a U.S. citizen. She credits her sister's autoimmune disease for the beginning of StockPot Images. Her sister used marijuana in her daily medicinal regime to combat the effects of her disease. Ophelia thought wrongly of her sister, calling her a pothead but was later inspired by her. StockPot Images grew from her wanting to educate herself and others on the beneficial use of marijuana and to stop the negative stereotyping of people who were using marijuana.

Ophelia's goal was to change the perception of the cannabis industry by offering true and empowered digital visual images and she succeeded. She became the founder of the only cannabis stock photo agency. She partnered with Adobe and continued to promote cannabis through her visual imagery. Her target clients are healthcare and branding agencies. She is filling the need for the corporate and emerging cannabis industries to secure images that will be needed to promote and expand their place in this budding industry.  The thought behind her business is that visual perception has no language barriers.

Asian Americans for Cannabis was founded by Ophelia to empower and connect other Asians communities with news and policy that would affect Asians through-out the world.

Amber Senter

An entrepreneur and advocate for cannabis and considered an expert on edibles. She is the owner of a dispensary in California. She is a women-of-color holding a position as a self-sufficient cannabis shareholder. Her position as a co-founder and CEO of Leisure Life, a company that promotes lifestyle and supplies infused edibles puts her on the list of influential women in the marijuana industry today.

She holds the position of co-founder for Supernova Women which was founded in 2015 and is dedicated to empowering all people of color to prosper in the legal cannabis market. Amber is a sought-after coach and mentor. Her knowledge for the medical and recreational user is unsurpassed. Amber is a well-trusted expert in the growing cannabis industry. Her ability to be a role model in the new cannabis market as the entrepreneurs of the future are a demanded commodity.

I think it is kind of fitting that women play such a large part in the cannabis industry becoming famous marijuana advocates and inspiring others. Woman for woman is my motto, She; the cannabis plant will be well taken care of in the budding cannabis business by Her, the woman.

Remember to indulge responsibly and enjoy!
