Where it all began
The Emerald Cup initially started as an underground secret post-harvest festival. The event was aimed at cannabis growers who were in the famed Emerald Triangle growing region of Mendocino, Humboldt, and Trinity counties. Today the festival has emerged as a major networking event for the budding cannabis industry and a new era since marijuana legalization in California.
What to expect
The Emerald Cup is an educational experience for all who attend. The added enjoyment of a music festival is included as part of the experience. So far projections show that over 500 vendors are expected to register for the Emerald Cup 2020. Four stages of speakers were presented this year with hopes of the same or more for 2020.
The Emerald Cup brings together thousands of cannabis producer scientists, activist artists, and regular everyday consumers. The goal going forward for the Emerald Cup is to raise the level of cannabis events. The festival organizers want cannabis to be part of everyone’s life. Organizers are hoping to go international, so everyone can share their best practices about what does and doesn’t work.
The Emerald Cup heads to international grounds in Birmingham, England, Tim Blake, the founder of the Emerald Cup, believes that legalization is coming to France, Germany, and England. He sees the market in Europe ready to take a budding leap. He is prepared and wants to provide education to the upcoming cannabis market.
