Cannabis vapes remain hard to find in Canada
Vape pens have been all over the news with much concern about their safety. That may be the reason that they are challenging to find here in Canada. There are many different opinions about vaping and the health issues they are thought to cause, and that back and forth is causing a major shortage.
What are vape pens, and how do they work?
Vape pens are a way for cannabis users to vape the juice is produced using THC extract that can easily be added to a vape pen and ingested for their desired benefits. They emit very little odor, and they are battery operated. They heat the juice or wax and allow you to inhale the THC filled vape. This helps the user to be more discreet then sparking a joint. Some people love vape pens while others are not too impressed with them.
Although there is some concern that marijuana concentrates are not natural, as it is an industrial process that makes them. Health Canada has a concern about their safety, which is why they have sent out warnings via the media about the cons of vaping. This might have some producers of the cannabis products shying away from the vaping scene.
There has been a rumour circulating that vapes are going to be banned altogether, but does that only open a black market opportunity? The fact is the black market is always looking for an in, and that just may the tiny door opening. A new spot for them to have products that have not been regulated through Health Canada, and we will have to wait and see how that will pan out in the long run.
Health Canadas concerns
There is not currently enough research to verify that vaping is not a health risk, and cannabis concentrates in vape form are in need of more research. As the little bits that we do know about vaping have been speculation at best in regards to the juice that is made for E-Cigarettes and the ingredients that are used in them. So that doesn’t necessarily mean that cannabis concentrates are of the same risk.
When it comes to vaping cannabis concentrates, there is also a concern of psychosis. As solvents extract the cannabis concentrates, we can’t be sure of the long-term effects. Recent headlines in Canada have put even more concern on vaping as there have been deaths, and they believe that the vape is the main factor involved. There have been many reports about popcorn lung and other respiratory issues. Health Canada has not found a way to regulate the product yet.
So, it is one of those situations where only time will tell. As far as vape pens go, yes, they are still available, and there has been nothing concrete to say they will be banned altogether. The vape situation in the cannabis industry is still a go. It has just been a slow process with limited products and what seems to be a shortage of sorts. The choice to vape or not vape is still open and probably will be for some time to come. Like with all things, be sure to make an educated decision on whether or not you feel it is safe through rigorous research.
