Article IX of the Missouri state constitution permits Missouri residents who have qualifying medical conditions to purchase and cultivate medical marijuana with approval through a medical physician's signature. Physicians have to decide as to whether or not to certify patients with chronic medical conditions who could benefit from the use of medical cannabis. Importantly the law protects the physician from any legal ramifications when having conversations around the use of Missouri medical marijuana.
Over the last 19 months, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) has granted the approval of more than 100,000 medical cannabis patient and caregiver cultivation applications.
It has been over two years since Missouri voters have voiced their affirmative position on approving Missouri medical marijuana. However, the noticeable gap in the knowledge that medical physicians have regarding the use of medical cannabis and what information is available today is widening.
Dr. Patricia Hurford, a presenter in the virtual video training, is a Board member of MoCannTrade and believes it is vital that Missouri's health professionals be equipped with the most up-to-date tools when discussing medical cannabis with patients as an additional medical option.
The more information that a health provider has to give to the patient, the more informed a decision can be made in regard to using cannabis as a treatment for specific health issues. The free online course will help those living in Missouri who are currently benefiting from medical marijuana use. For those who have considered speaking with their health professionals about adding cannabis to their medical health regime, this free online course provided by MoCannTrade can help as a guide towards making an informed cannabis medical decision.
