Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is a long-term disorder affecting the central nervous system. Symptoms start slowly and effects the movement of a person. PD is characterized by stiffness of limbs and muscle control, and tremors. Parkinson’s Disease has no cure.

Parkinson’s presents with different symptoms for each individual. Everyone has their own medicine regime. It is estimated that 10 million people worldwide have Parkinson’s and have some terrible side effects to live and deal with daily. Men are more likely to be diagnosed with PD than women. PD involves the assessment of four primary motor symptoms. The drug Levodopa is a medication that is prescribed for people who are living with PD. The side-effects of this medication include:

  1. Dizziness drowsiness
  2. Loss of appetite
  3. Nausea
  4. Heartburn

Taking this drug for the treatment of PD requires you to monitor what you eat while taking it. Avoid protein like meat eggs and cheese, using these can reduce the absorption of the mediation.

How to use CBD oil for Parkinson’s Disease

CBD can be used for the treatment of some of the symptoms of PD like sleep pattern disturbances, psychosis, and impaired movement. CBD is known to block a receptor GPR6 which can cause some impaired movement which is known to happen with Parkinson’s Disease.

CBD oil for Parkinson’s Disease can be beneficial when used at the end of the day to relieve pain, shaking and tremors that accompany this disease.

You may be a first timer at using CBD oil, remember to go slow, try to get the correct dose. Start low and slow and increase gradually if necessary.

CBD pills are also available for the treatment of PD. Consult with your primary health-provider before adding CBD oil to your treatment regime. Discussions anytime you add or take-away from your dairy medical regime need to be discussed with your health provider. If you’re not sure which CBD oil is best for Parkinson's disease, do you research, you don't want to rush into using CBD products with weak strength or using them inappropriately.

If you choose to take CBD oil orally, you will need to hold it under your tongue for a few seconds before you swallow the oil. You may choose to administer your CBD in edibles like cookies or CBD gum.
