Trying to fight off a bad case of the winter blues? Feeling like there’s not enough energy to get things done? Are you tired of sluggishly surviving through every single day in a depressing attempt to make it to the weekend? If you answered yes, then CBD might just be the boost that you need.

Why am I tired all the time?

Winter is tough on everyone, as we spend less time in the fresh air absorbing natural daylight, but if you’re combating extreme fatigue or experiencing these odd symptoms at a different time of the year, it can be cause for concern.  There are many things that can cause low energy levels, including a lack of vitamin D and other biological factors that might be more difficult to pinpoint.

The experts believe that energy levels are stimulated by a section of the brain called the hypothalamus which is responsible for managing a broad range of bodily functions and processes. Unfortunately, this sensitive part of the brain reacts poorly to certain bodily changes, including poor sleep, diet, or exercise, which can throw the whole system off balance. Restoring imbalances in chemicals in the brain is often key to increasing energy levels.

Extreme fatigue is dangerous and unhealthy

Very few of us get enough sleep to function optimally, but when other factors weigh in, the results can be devastating, leading those adversely impacted to fall asleep behind the wheel, in an important interview, while running some other heavy machinery, and during other important moments when being on our toes could mean the difference between life or death or at the very least, a paycheck and unemployment. Of course, not everyone gets that bad. Still, it’s essential to nip this problem in the bud if you want to live a good quality of life.

How CBD can help

CBD can stimulate the hypothalamus and interact with the endocannabinoid system to balance the body’s sleep and wake cycle. The brain is also full of cannabinoid receptors that will regulate the way the hypothalamus functions, which can work to fix any imbalances that might exist due to a lack of stimuli. In other words, CBD can help your body to better recognize when it’s time to go to sleep while also working to keep you in a state of rest that is necessary to wake up feeling refreshed.

Other related benefits

Aside from correcting an imbalance that might result in low energy levels, taking CBD boasts a wide range of other benefits that might also help to improve your overall health, including:

  • CBD can help to improve cognitive function, which may enhance concentration, focus, and performance. Essentially, CBD has the ability to make you feel more awake, even when you haven’t gotten the best night’s sleep.

  • CBD works to stabilize the nervous system by interacting with serotonin and cannabinoid type 2 receptors to restore balance and regulate anxiety-induced symptoms or habits. Basically, it’ll make you feel much more relaxed, which can make regular everyday tasks much less draining.

  • Skin health might not necessarily be directly tied to energy levels, but if you’ve ever had a rash you can’t stop itching or a wound you can’t stop picking at, no matter how tired you might be, then you might beg to differ. CBD can help to alleviate those discomforts through a topical or oral application by reducing inflammation.

It’s important to remember that results aren’t instant

CBD might just be the solution you need on those days when you’re feeling incredibly fatigued, but it’s important to recognize the fact that this cannabinoid doesn’t always work instantly. This is because it can take days, weeks, and even months to build up in the body enough to have a powerful enough effect to provide relief, and that is why we highly recommend starting early.

If you’re one of the many who struggle with low energy levels all year round, then it might be worthwhile to add CBD to your daily supplement regimen, and if you’re a seasonal sufferer, then you’d probably benefit most by starting a daily CBD dose as early as the first snowfall.

Every person is unique, and not everyone has success with only CBD products, but you’ll never know if it works if you don’t give this cannabinoid enough time to take action, so do your best to keep that in mind as you search for and experiment with CBD to find your ideal dose.
