Nourishing CBD sugar scrub recipe that works wonders on calloused feet

Cannabis and hemp oils are getting tossed into just about everything these days because they can do amazing things both inside and outside of the body. Adding CBD to a sugar scrub can help to reduce inflammation and pain, and it can also provide soothing relief and faster healing for problem skin, which is perfect for a relaxing and functional recipe.
How it works
This DIY sugar scrub is filled with all different kinds of powerful elements from those that are active like CBD to the ones that are aromatic like essential oils. All of which can be soothing when applied to the skin. In addition to the natural moisturizing benefits of coconut oil, coarse ingredients like sugar and salt gently scrub away dead skin revealing a fresh, new layer.
Is it a foot peel?
This sugar scrub recipe is most definitely not a foot peel, as most of those products utilize harsh chemicals that can accidentally remove too much skin or cause more irritation, but it does provide stellar results that will peel away a whole layer from rough patches that build upon the skin over time.
DIY sugar scrub recipe
You can always head to the store and pick up a cheap pre-made version, but it will cost you more and probably won’t offer the same all-natural benefits of this DIY sugar scrub.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup Epsom salt
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup unrefined cannabis-infused coconut oil (room temperature)
- 25-50 drops essential oil (any kind as long as it’s skin safe)
- Zest of an orange, lemon, or grapefruit
Tools
- Two mixing bowls
- Wooden spoon
- Whisk
Instructions
-
Add the coconut oil and essential oil to one bowl and whisk them together.
-
Now pour the rest of the ingredients into another mixing bowl and sift them until they are thoroughly combined. Since the two main ingredients are different colors, you will be able to tell when it’s ready when the powder reaches an evenly brown or tan tone.
-
Take a wooden spoon and slowly add the liquid ingredients bit by bit, mixing as you go to ensure even coverage over the coarser pieces. Keep mixing until it reaches a smooth texture and color.
How to use
Now that you have a tough scrub ready to use, you are probably wondering where to go from here, and the answer is simple. Get out a foot bath or hop into the bathtub before scrubbing the paste all over your roughest areas. Though we highly recommended that this sugar scrub recipe be used on feet, it can also do wonders for dry, flaky skin and rough patches on the face, hands, elbows, knees, and anywhere else that you have extra dead skin in need of scrubbing.
From there, you want to scrub the paste in larger and smaller circles over problem areas and leave it on to nourish the skin for a while. Just remember not to stand up while it’s on the bottoms of your feet, as the thick mixture can make things feel slick, which can lead to a fall.
How to store this sugar scrub
To store this DIY sugar scrub, all you really need is some kind of airtight container. Something that is darker and will protect it from light exposure, will preserve the cannabinoids best, but it can be kept at any temperature. So, if you want a super smooth scrub, then leave it at the side of the tub or somewhere else warm, but if you want a cooling tingling effect, then don’t be afraid to toss it into the fridge for a few days, just make sure to use it up within a couple of weeks.
