There is a whole lot of buzz about THC infused products that are just available in different regions across the globe, but CBD doesn’t get nearly the credit that it deserves.

THC vs CBD

Most consumers know THC as the element that gets you high, and CBD as its medicinal opposite, which is in some ways correct, but when it comes to the topical application of cannabinoids, none of them will get you high. That is because, like most creatures, humans are equipped with a skin barrier that stops most things from reaching the bloodstream through mere contact.

However, not being able to catch a buzz from topical ointments doesn’t negate the host of benefits that can be obtained from using cannabinoids:

THC is much more effective for pain relief, with fewer medicinal characteristics when applied to the skin.

CBD works well to treat many different skin conditions, and also acts as a nourishing supplement that helps to improve skin regeneration and growth.

CBD oil benefits

CBD cream is typically infused with CBD oil which is the ingredient that provides some of the most powerful and all-natural benefits. CBD oil benefits include:

  • Clears acne
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Chemical-free
  • Pain relief
  • Reduction in stress
  • Moisturizing plant-based oils
  • Stimulates skin cell regeneration and growth
  • Anti-itch
  • Soothes the symptoms of eczema

DIY- How to make CBD lotion

Whether you have some wrinkles that you’d like to iron out or you’re dealing with a frustrating dry skin that won’t go away, or just need a chemical-free way to moisturize your skin, CBD lotion or cream might be just the solution you need. The best thing about making homemade CBD oil products is that you can adjust and experiment with the potency of the oil until you achieve the benefits that you seek. There is also the option of adding additional elements such as essential oils which can help to enhance the CBD oil benefits.

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Glass measuring cup
  • Medium-sized pot
  • Blender

Instructions

  1. Ensure that all the ingredients are at room temperature. Add vitamin E, aloe vera, CBD oil and the essential oils to a mixing bowl.

  2. Whisk the mixture well until the ingredients are thoroughly combined, then set the bowl aside for now.

  3. Prepare a broiler by placing a glass measuring cup into the middle of a pot and fill the pot around halfway with water.

  4. Place the pot on a burner that is set to medium heat, and warm up the ingredients until the wax liquifies, ensuring to scrape the side of the measuring cup and stir the wax to avoid scalding.

  5. Once the beeswax has melted remove the pot from the heat and pour the mixture into a blender.

  6. When the wax has cooled enough that it is still moldable but is no longer a liquid, set the blender to high, and continue until the mixture reaches a smooth consistency.

  7. Add 1/2 of the aloe vera combination to the blender and mix the ingredients thoroughly.

  8. Pour the remaining aloe vera blend into the blender and finish the CBD lotion on high speed until the mixture reaches your preferred texture.
