The atomizer heat converts the juice into the cloud of vape “smoke” which is made of up millions of tiny drops of liquid that are airborne.

Most know that heat is an essential element of a vape pen functioning, but many don’t realize the wick used is just as important. The wick is made of a material that absorbs the vape juice like silica rope or cotton. It contacts the coil and slowly pulls the vape juice down to a heated coil. Most vapes are designed in a way where gravity assists this process, but without the wick, there will be no steady flow of fluid.
Sensors in a vape pen
Even the most basic push-button start vape pens have a sensor that is triggered when the button is pushed. Others require slightly more sensitive detectors that will trigger the heating element when the pen is picked up, or when a user inhales. Unfortunately, the most fragile piece is also the most important. Sensors are the number one weak point that renders vape pens useless until fixed or replaced.
What kind of batteries do vape pens require?
Vape pens require a very powerful battery. It must be strong enough to reliably put off the energy needed for the coil contained inside the atomizer to reach and maintain a temperature of 400F. The batteries used in vape pens are Lithium Ion batteries which carry a higher than average level of energy density. They are the also the safest option because they have the least risk of exploding.
Vape pens appear to be simple at first glance but are a lot more complicated as you break down all the parts required for a vape to function correctly. If you are brave enough to perform your fixes on a vape pen than a more professional model may be right up your alley, but for most, the idea of a convenient replaceable cartridge is more straightforward. All vape pens regardless of price point or design work on the same mechanics and every one of them will require all essential components within to perform flawlessly for the best experience.
