How to roll a ghost joint
Whether you’re hoping to show off your skills with papers, or you’re just looking for a fun challenge to suit the holiday we’ve got you covered with multiple ideas, but one of the best ones yet is the ghost joint. It’s easy, creepy, and it offers a unique experience to create something so cool that is smokable.
Is it hard?
This holiday roll looks just like a spooky ghost, and though it might seem like a lot of work at first, it’s great practice for beginners because it has so few seals to manage, and a fun project for those with more experience, as they can have a chance to put their own flair and style into the details.
What you’ll need
- 1.5-3 grams of flower
- 1 black icing marker
- 5 king-sized rolling papers
- 1 filter tip
- Blunt glue (optional)
Remove any stems, and then grind the flower until it reaches an even blend.
Use scissors to remove a glue strip from one of the rolling papers. Alternatively, if you’re using blunt glue, this step can be skipped.
Moisten the glue strip (or get out some good old-fashioned blunt glue) and use it to attach 2 of the rolling papers end to end so that the glue strips line up perfectly.
These newly attached papers will form the base of your ghost, so it’s important to make this joint a lot wider than the next 2 arm rolls. Keep that in mind as you shape the body into a thick joint.
Install a filter tip in one end of the roll, and then use your fingers to twist up the open end, leaving the tip flared rather than trimming or tucking it away.
Now it’s time to move on to the arms. These rolls should be approximately ½ as thick as the first and only filled ¾ of the way, leaving approximately 1inch of the paper completely empty.
Use a toothpick or some other small narrow drilling tool to make 2 small holes, one on either side of the body joint. These holes should match the size of the filled ends of the last 2 arm rolls while you carefully create entry points.
Carefully twist the filled ends of the arms into the holes, feeding them one at a time, gently until it feels like there’s a good seal. In some cases, this can be hard to accomplish, which is where blunt glue can come in handy to seal the seams.
Twist each of the arm joints closed and then leave the paper ends splayed outwards just as you did before.
Now, use a food marker or cannabis concentrate to put 2 eyes and a creepy mouth or some other unique features on the roll, and once the final touches are done, it will be ready to smoke.
It’s finally time to smoke this terrifying thing by sparking up all 3 flared tips as quickly as you can and taking small hauls to get things going with some airflow.
