The warmest months of the year are upon us, and it’s now the norm for it to either be scalding hot outside, or actively storming, and there is very little reprieve from the steamy effects of nature. This is also the busiest time of the year when we spend all of our spare time getting out and doing things that we love, but it’s hard to bring along our cannabis products, and have them make it in one recognizable piece.

Edibles like THC gummies are the most fragile, as concentrates like wax, shatter, or oil can always be salvaged, even if things might get a little bit messy, but the softer, chewy sweets will break down until they are nothing but a puddle, and at that point, they often get tossed as they are no longer appealing to look at, and the taste can be ruined as whatever cannabis ingredient separates from the flavor-filled gelatin.

This is a problem that every edibles lover will face at one time or another, and after a couple of mistakes, you’ll quickly want to find a solution so that you aren’t wasting your money. If you want to travel with THC gummies without worrying so much about whether or not they can stand up to the heat, then you’ll want to check out these five different ways that you can preserve them while you adventure and explore this summer.

1. Cooler

A cooler of any shape or size will do the trick, and though most don’t come in a size that is very efficient, if you pack your THC gummies inside of one in a sealed container alongside a few ice cubes or frozen packs, they’ll last all day long in the trunk of your car, which means that they’ll survive the journey to the beach in one piece.

2. Lunch pail

Lunch pails offer a more ideally sized old storage option, as they can tuck neatly away in a backpack or be hung over your shoulder which is handy if you travel by bike or on foot. The average lunch pail isn’t going to buy you an entire day, like the coolers mentioned above, but they can preserve your edibles for 5-6 hours with no trouble at all with nothing other than a small ice pack to keep the temperature down.

3. Thermos

We normally use thermoses for our favourite hot beverages, but they can work to keep things cold too, especially if you invest in one that guarantees a solid 12 hours of heat or cooling which is offered with both Thermos and Yeti cups. You can just toss them in however you want to bring it with you and seal up the lid, and in most cases, you won’t even need to add ice or cold packs, and your edibles will stay in pristine condition in a compact carrying case that is light and well disguised.

4. Freeze them

All of the above ideas are great, but if you have a long way to go, and you want to be absolutely sure that your THC gummies keep their shape and consistency, then you might want to consider freezing them before you head out. Since they’re so small, they only take about an hour to freeze completely, and if you toss them into a freezer-safe baggie when they defrost, you won’t even see or feel condensation which could ruin the look and feel of the edibles.

5. Toss them into a bottle of water

Finding the best cold storage option for your edibles is the ideal choice, but we don’t always have these things on hand when the urge hits to take on the road in the heat, and when all else fails, one of the best things that you can do is toss them into a bottle of water. This might not sound overly appealing at first, but the sticky sweet treats will slowly dissolve into the water, making an instant flavored cannabis-infused drink that you can use to quench your thirst along the way.
