The vaporizer is quickly becoming one of the most popular devices on the market for cannabis consumers but finding the right one presents challenges if you don’t understand exactly what to watch for when making a purchase. Luckily, finding the best vape is something that everyone can manage with these few simple tips and tricks on what to consider before buying a dry herb vaporizer.

1. Battery life
One of the most important features to look for in a dry herb vaporizer is an extended battery life of at least 4 hours, especially if you want a device that is good to take with you on adventures. Otherwise, you could find yourself high and dry at the worst of times.

2. Size
The best vape is one that fits conveniently into your life. If you need something that is pocket compatible, then it’s a good idea to find this out. If you end up with something too big and clunky, it will just end up sitting stored away useless on a shelf instead of serving its purpose. For some people, tiny vaporizer pens are too easy to lose and not stable like tabletop versions, so the ideal size is definitely a personal decision.

3. Adjustable temperature settings
Temperature settings are important in a dry herb vaporizer since preset versions tend to burn way too hot or too cold. The best way to ensure that you’ll enjoy the experience is by buying a vape that offers a wide range of selections to choose from.

4. Charge time
No one wants to be stuck sitting around the house all day as they wait for their vaporizer to charge, and that is why quick charge models are the most preferred on the market today. Quick charge vapes will take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour to fully charge, so that’s a good range to look for in a potential vaporizer.

5. Number of coils
If you have ever tried a cheap, dry herb vaporizer then you probably already know that they don’t work very well, and that is usually due to a lack of coils. With liquid vapes, the concentrate is evenly heated, but with dry herb, the process is a bit more difficult. To combat the issue of partially vaporized herb, it is best to stick to vaporizer options with 2 or more coils.

6. Coil spacing
Some vaporizer designs keep the coils side by side rather than spaced out across the chamber that holds the dry herb. Unfortunately, this is a bad idea as it contributes to that uneven burn, we touched on earlier. So, if you want a reliable heat source that isn’t going to leave buds not vaped, then be sure to keep an eye on the coil spacing of any potential purchases.

7. Airflow adjustment
The best vape designs include an adjustable airflow valve that allows the user to adjust just how much vapor they get in each hit. This determines the potency of the hit as well as how smooth it is, and a lack of one tends to result in harsh tokes that are less enjoyable, so make sure one is included as a feature in your next dry herb vaporizer.

8. Cloud size
For some consumers, discretion is a massive part of the appeal of a vaporizer, as it significantly reduces smell and draws less attention, as the untrained eye tends to assume that vapes are e-cigarettes. However, if you want to be able to partake in the art of vape tricks, then you will need a device that delivers. Since this is a feature you won’t always find advertised on the box, it can help to search through models used on YouTube or to ask your local vaping specialist for a recommendation.

9. Heating time
Just like with charging, no one would want to be waiting impatiently as their dry herb vaporizer slowly feeds heat to the coils. Generally, the battery size is a good indicator of this, but it’s also one of the features you can nearly always find on the side of the box. If you don’t see heat time listed, then you might want to avoid it, as there is no guarantee that the vaporizer will be ready when you need it the most.

10. Life expectancy
The best vape is one that is going to last, making it worth the financial investment and energy to maintain. A good way to predict this is by looking at how many of the parts inside of a vaporizer are replaceable. Everything in a high-quality vaporizer should be easy to replace aside from the battery, which in higher-end models is built into the base of the device. If you can’t buy coils and replacement chambers, then keep on looking, otherwise, you aren’t going to be impressed with your purchase.
