Safe Alternatives is the only non-profit medical marijuana dispensary located in District 8 (Aroostook County.) The purpose of Safe Alternatives is to provide qualifying patients access to marijuana products for medical use. It is our intent to educate our patients and the public about benefits of medical marijuana and how it may be used safely and effectively as a treatment option for many medical conditions. What do I need to bring with me? To purchase medical marijuana, you must have a valid physical medical marijuana certification card in tandem with a Maine issued ID* every visit. The marijuana program is a state program and why a State of Maine ID is required. While some states allow for a temporary, digital or scanned copy of a certification card, please be aware, this is not acceptable in the state of Maine. You must posses your Maine ID and medical card every visit. Will you be switching to recreational? At this time, Safe Alternatives will offer CBD products in the public room for anyone over 21 but all marijuana sales are strictly for medical patients.
